Jairam Thakur Accuses State Government of Political Vendetta, Urges Focus on Development
Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has accused the state government of acting out of political vendetta following the transfer of 41 doctors from Lala Bahadur Shastri Medical College and Hospital, Nerchowk. Thakur stated that since the Congress came to power, arbitrary decisions have been made, leading to institutions being weakened or closed.
Thakur claimed that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is leading the system towards decline instead of reforming it. He noted that even three years after promising an MRI machine at Nerchowk Medical College, no action has been taken, and the Patient Welfare Committee meetings have not been held.
The former CM also alleged that the Chief Minister is showing bias in Mandi’s development and harboring ill will towards local leaders. He highlighted attempts to shift Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University and Atal Medical University, stating that he will not allow such moves.
Thakur warned that these policies of the Congress party would backfire in the 2027 state elections. He emphasized that the public is fed up with politics driven by vendetta and urged the Chief Minister to focus on development and public welfare.
