Himachal Pradesh to Recruit 200 Assistant Doctors, MOs to be Deployed in Field

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government is set to recruit 200 assistant doctors, who will be posted in the state’s medical colleges. Meanwhile, Medical Officers (MOs) currently serving in medical colleges will now be deployed directly in the field.

The process has begun at Nerchauk Medical College, and soon MOs from other medical colleges will also be sent to field postings. The government has requested a list of MOs currently posted in medical colleges from the Health Department.

The government has separated the cadre of doctors in medical colleges and the Directorate of Health Services. This step aims to strengthen the healthcare system in Himachal Pradesh and ensure better treatment facilities for patients.

The state has six medical colleges and one super specialty hospital. Doctors will be deployed to colleges where there is a shortage of professors, associate professors, and assistant professors.

Chief Minister Sukhu has been holding regular meetings with health officials to improve healthcare services across the state. Under this plan, doctors will also be posted in every community health center and primary health center.
