Himachal News: No extension of service up to 65 years in Power Board’s Operations Wing; consensus not reached in meeting

Proposal to Extend Service Up to 65 Years in State Power Board’s Operations Wing Rejected

Officers and employees in the Operations Wing of the State Power Board will not receive a service extension up to 65 years. The proposal failed to get approval during the board of directors meeting held on Thursday, citing that no such provision exists in the government regulations.

The meeting also decided to pledge assets of the 126 MW Larji Power Project to secure a loan from Power Finance Corporation. The loan will be used for the maintenance of the project.

Chaired by Power Board Chairman Prabodh Saxena, the board meeting discussed 19 agenda items and approved decisions from the previous meeting. During discussions on the service extension proposal, several directors noted that other wings of the board also do not have provisions for service extension. The proposal suggested extending service for experienced retired employees to fill vacant positions in the Operations Wing, but no consensus was reached.

Board Managing Director Aditya Negi and several other officials and directors were present at the meeting.
