Himachal Government to Challenge Regularization Order of Outsourced Computer Teachers in High Court
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government is preparing to approach the High Court against the order to regularize outsourced computer teachers in government schools. The government plans to challenge the single bench decision in a division bench.
The Law Department has prepared a proposal for a review petition and sent it to the Education Department. On September 17, a single bench of the Himachal High Court ordered the regularization of around 1,300 outsourced computer teachers. While the order was welcomed by teachers, the government’s review petition has temporarily stalled the matter.
The Law Department has expressed concerns that implementing the single bench order could create financial and administrative imbalance. If outsourced computer teachers are regularized, other outsourced employees in similar positions across departments might demand the same, potentially leading to large-scale regularization claims.
The Education Department is now reviewing the matter and preparing to seek cabinet approval for the review petition. Computer teachers have long demanded regularization, as they are currently appointed through outsourcing agencies and do not receive permanent pay scales or other government service benefits.
