Himachal Pradesh to Launch 24-Hour Medical Test Labs
Medical test labs are being set up in the zonal, civil, and medical colleges of Himachal Pradesh. Staff from the state government will operate these labs, ensuring round-the-clock testing for patients.
In the first phase, the labs will be established in 50 health institutions across the state. Samples from remote primary health centers will be collected and tested at nearby laboratories. Drones will be used to transport samples to hospitals.
Reports will be sent online to the respective centers. The Health Department has already started working on the project, with the goal of setting up the new labs within the next two months.
Earlier, samples at medical colleges in Himachal were collected only until noon, with reports available by 3 PM. Now, with staff working in 24-hour rotations, patients will have access to testing services throughout the day.
