Construction of Two Major Bridges Begins on Bhanupli-Bilaspur-Baerri New Railway Line

The construction of two major bridges on the Bhanupli-Bilaspur-Baerri new railway line has commenced. RVNL has issued a tender worth ₹401.98 crore for the project, and Kolkata-based Royal Infracon Ltd. has been awarded the contract. According to the agreement, the company must complete the construction within 30 months, followed by a 180-day defect liability period.

The work includes foundation, sub-structure, super-structure, river training and protection work, and other associated tasks. The bridges will be constructed between kilometer markers 36+100 and 40+480. RVNL stated that the contract was awarded through an international competitive bidding process, in which Royal Infracon Ltd. emerged as the lowest evaluated bidder.

As per the contract terms, the company is required to submit a performance security of 5% of the contract value, amounting to ₹17.03 crore, along with tax compliance, insurance, bank details, and GST registration.

The Bhanupli-Bilaspur-Baerri new railway line is considered a historic project for the state. It is expected to boost tourism and industry, while strengthening connectivity between Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. The construction of these major bridges will also accelerate the laying of tracks across the region’s rivers and valleys.
