Himachal: CM Sukhu Focuses on Electric Mobility and Green Energy, Signs MoA with Dabur for Medicinal Plants

Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the state government is promoting electric mobility. By April, around 300 new electric buses will be added to the HRTC fleet. Electric vehicles will also be implemented across various government departments, and 38,000 taxis are being converted to e-taxis with a 40% subsidy. Himachal Pradesh aims to become a green energy state by March 31, 2026, and plans to further expand these initiatives.

The CM said the state is preparing to become prosperous by 2032. The first budget focused on green energy, and this year, a target of 200 MW solar energy production has been set. Himachal Pradesh also aims to become a leading state in green hydrogen production in the coming years.

He added that the state is fighting for its statutory rights and will not move forward with upcoming projects like the Kishau and Renuka dams until neighboring states provide solid assurances regarding pending dues from the Bhakra Beas Management Board.
