Kangra: 23-Year-Old Agniveer Amneet Dies in Road Accident, Given Military Honors in Farewell
Jwaly (Kangra) witnessed a tragic loss as 23-year-old Agniveer Amneet from Behi Pathiyar Panchayat passed away in a road accident. Amneet, who had joined the 17 Dogra Regiment around two and a half years ago, was currently posted in Hyderabad. He had returned home on leave a week ago and was scheduled to report back to duty on Wednesday, February 25.
According to reports, on February 23, Amneet was riding his bike toward Jaonta when he lost control and collided with a tree by the roadside. He sustained severe injuries in the accident, leading to his untimely death. Amneet is survived by his parents and two sisters. He was the only brother to his two sisters. His father, Balwant Singh, works as a laborer, while his mother, Krishna Devi, is a homemaker.
Amneet’s last rites were performed on Tuesday with full state and military honors. An army contingent laid a wreath and gave the final salute. The funeral was attended by the local Tehsildar, police officials, and a large number of local residents, all paying tribute to the young soldier. The poignant farewell left everyone emotional.
