Three Youth Congress Leaders Arrested in Rohru; Himachal Police Intercepts in Dharampur
Shimla: Delhi Police arrested three Youth Congress office bearers from the Rohru area of Shimla district. The action is reportedly linked to a protest staged by the Youth Congress during an AI Summit event.
According to sources, after the arrests, Delhi Police was escorting the individuals when Himachal Police set up a checkpoint in Dharampur, Solan district, and intercepted the convoy. The Himachal Police team had been deployed since around 10 am, checking vehicles coming from the Shimla side.
Following the intervention, the Congress workers were brought back to Shimla. Sources indicate that Solan Police acted on instructions from senior officials. However, authorities have refrained from making detailed statements, describing the development as part of routine procedure.
More than 12 Delhi Police personnel were also taken into custody and are reportedly being produced before the Chakkar court. The incident has sparked political reactions in the region.
