16th India-US Joint Military Exercise 'Vajra Prahar' Begins
To strengthen growing defense ties between India and the United States, the 16th edition of the joint military exercise Vajra Prahar is set to commence on February 23. The exercise will be held at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh, and continue until March 15.
According to the army, the main objective of the exercise is to deepen defense cooperation and enhance joint operational capabilities between the two countries. India will be represented by a Special Forces contingent, while the United States will participate with Green Berets commandos.
Around 45 personnel from each side will undergo rigorous training under realistic combat scenarios. The exercise will also include the exchange of advanced strategies, techniques, and procedures for special operations.
A key focus this year is to enhance joint operational capabilities in desert and semi-desert environments. The 15th edition of Vajra Prahar was held in 2024 in Idaho, USA, and in 2023 in Umroi, Meghalaya.
