Shimla Wins Volleyball, Kohinoor Academy Dabhota Triumphs in Kabaddi at Shivaratri Festival
Mandi/Bilaspur/Dharamshala/Pawnta Sahib — At the International Shivaratri Festival held at Paddal ground, Shimla clinched the volleyball title while Kohinoor Academy Dabhota emerged victorious in the kabaddi final. Shimla defeated Mandi B 2‑0 in the volleyball final and Dabhota beat Coaching Centre Kullu 39‑34 in the kabaddi decider. DIG Rahul Nath honored the winners at the closing ceremony.
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) is set to conduct the Under‑16 Inter‑District Cricket Tournament in April, featuring teams from 12 districts divided into three pools. League matches will be followed by knockout rounds to identify emerging talent.
In Bilaspur’s Rauda Sector ground, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) is organizing two‑day trials for kabaddi and boxing, with the first day covering registration and fitness tests and the second day focusing on sport‑specific technical trials. Selected athletes will receive free boarding, coaching, education, medical support, insurance, and other facilities. Around 90 boxers and approximately 280 kabaddi players registered for the trials.
In the Veer Shivaji North India Cricket Competition at Pawnta Sahib’s civic stadium, Kyarada defeated Satoun XI by 36 runs, with notable performances by players like Lav and Abbas.
