Himachal Pradesh: Dabur to Distribute 12 Million Medicinal Plants Over 10 Years; 300 New E-Buses to Join Fleet by April
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Dabur Company. Under this agreement, Dabur will provide a total of 12 million medicinal plants free of cost to farmers in the state over the next ten years, distributing 1.2 million plants annually. The initiative aims to enhance ecological balance, increase green cover, and boost farmers’ income.
A separate 5-year agreement has also been signed in Solan for the cultivation and conservation of six key medicinal plants: turmeric, ashwagandha, shatavari, tulsi, chirata, and Himalayan gentian. In the initial phase, over 225 women farmers will participate across 108 bighas of land.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the state is promoting electric mobility. By April this year, around 300 new e-buses will be added to the HRTC fleet. Additionally, 40% subsidies are being provided to convert 38,000 taxis into e-taxis. Himachal aims to become a Green Energy State by March 31, 2026.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that the state will not proceed with projects like the Kishau and Renuka dams until neighboring states provide concrete assurances regarding pending dues with the Bhakra Beas Management Board.
