Massive Show of Support for Vikramaditya Singh in Himachal; Supporters Raise Slogans in Hall
Shimla: Political tensions have escalated in Himachal Pradesh following Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh’s recent remarks on IAS and IPS officers. While some ministers distanced themselves from the controversy, Education Minister Rohit Thakur openly supported Vikramaditya, raising the political heat further.
On Monday, a large number of Vikramaditya’s supporters gathered in a hall and raised slogans in his support. They carried placards and posters with his photograph, bearing slogans like “Together in past, present, and future…” and “As long as the sun and moon exist, the name of Raja Sahib will remain…”
Through this show of strength, supporters aimed to convey that even if some government ministers are distancing themselves from his comments, the people of the state stand firmly with him.
Minister Vikramaditya Singh’s statement:
During the event, Vikramaditya Singh said Himachal Pradesh is his top priority, and he is committed to working for the welfare of all sections of society. He highlighted that he follows the path shown by his late father Virbhadra Singh and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, focusing on the development of the state and addressing the concerns of its people. He also emphasized his dedication to government responsibilities, including road construction and securing central funds for state projects.
Pratibha Singh’s statement:
Former state president Pratibha Singh remarked that minor issues are common in government functioning. She praised Vikramaditya Singh as a senior leader who understands the state’s challenges well. She thanked the youth and supporters, noting that their presence clearly demonstrated public support for the minister in the fight for Himachal’s development.
