Himachal: Electric Shock Reported in Jogindernagar Hospital Wards, Patients Shifted from CCU

Electric Shock in E-Block of Jogindernagar Hospital, Wards Go Dark, Patients Shifted

Electric shocks were reported on Friday in the E-Block of Jogindernagar Civil Hospital in Mandi district. Patients undergoing treatment in the CCU had to be shifted to the pediatric ward. Darkness spread across the female, male, and surgical wards, and electricity supply had to be stopped. Due to the power outage in three main wards, treatment in the minor surgery unit had to be carried out using mobile lights, and providing oxygen to respiratory patients at their beds became difficult.

The hospital’s electrical wiring had already been affected due to water leakage. When electric shocks were felt in the patient wards of the E-Block, the emergency ward and minor surgery unit’s electricity supply was suspended. Treatment in the dialysis unit was also halted after shocks were reported.

Dr. Ankit, Acting SMO, stated that electricity was restored in the emergency ward after 8 pm, while other patient wards remained in darkness until late at night.
