A tragic incident was reported from Tarangla village near the Sarkaghat subdivision of Mandi district, where a nearly three-year-old girl died after drowning in a water-filled tub around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The incident has left the family in deep shock, as the child was their only daughter.
The deceased has been identified as Hitakshi. Her father, Keshu Rajput (Sanjay Kumar), is a blogger from the Sarkaghat area. According to information, Hitakshi was playing in the courtyard of her house on Tuesday morning, while her mother, Varsha, was washing clothes in the bathroom. During this time, the child accidentally fell face-down into a tub filled with water.
By the time the mother noticed, it was already too late. Hearing the child’s cries, family members and neighbors rushed her to the Civil Hospital, Sarkaghat, where doctors declared her dead.
Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Police officials stated that the family has not expressed any suspicion regarding the incident. Action has been taken under Section 194 of the BNSS.
It is noteworthy that Mamta, a recent acid attack victim in Mandi town, is the aunt of the child’s father, Keshu Rajput. The family has thus been struck by yet another tragedy. Local Gram Panchayat Pradhan Naresh Kumar also expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family.
