Renuka Thakur and Harleen Deol Selected for Indian Women’s Team for Australia Tour
Ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup in England and upcoming T20 matches, Himachal Pradesh cricketers Renuka Singh Thakur and Harleen Deol have been selected for the Indian Women’s cricket team for the Australia tour. It is a proud moment for the state as both players will showcase their talent in the T20 and One Day International (ODI) series.
Renuka Singh Thakur has been included in both the T20 and ODI squads, while Harleen Deol has been selected for the ODI team. India’s first T20 match in Australia is scheduled for February 15, followed by the second match on February 19 and the third on February 21. The ODI series will begin on February 24, with the second match on February 27 and the third on March 1.
The Indian women’s team had emerged victorious in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup and had also delivered a strong performance in the T20 World Cup. Now, ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Australia tour will provide another opportunity for the players to impress, followed by the T20 series against England.
HPCA Secretary Manuj Sharma said it is a proud moment for the state that two players from Himachal have been selected for the Australia tour. He wished both players all the best and expressed confidence that they will shine on the international stage.
