Himachal Weather Update: Rain and Snowfall Expected from Night of January 22, Orange Alert in Several Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, Himachal Pradesh is likely to experience a change in weather from the night of January 22 due to the active western disturbance. Rain and snowfall are expected in several parts of the state for the next four days. The cold wave continues to affect the region, with night temperatures recorded below 5°C at 20 locations.
Today, the weather is clear in Shimla and other areas. Minimum temperatures recorded across the state include:
- Shimla 4.4°C, Bhuntar 1.2°C, Kalpa -2.2°C, Dharamshala 5.8°C, Una 3.0°C, Nahan 6.3°C, Palampur 2.0°C, Solan 1.7°C, Manali 1.2°C, Kangra 3.8°C, Mandi 2.9°C, Bilaspur 4.5°C, Hamirpur 1.9°C, Jubbarhatti 6.0°C, Kufri 2.8°C, Kukumseri -6.8°C, Narkanda 1.0°C, Reckong Peo 0.3°C, Seubag 0.0°C, Barthin 1.3°C, Chaupal 3.2°C, Kasauli 6.3°C, Paonta Sahib 9.0°C, Sarahan 7.6°C, Dehra Gopipur 8.0°C, Tabo -6.7°C, Neri 9.2°C.
The Meteorological Department predicts a gradual rise of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures over the next 3-4 days. Maximum temperatures are expected to remain steady for the next 48 hours, followed by a drop of 6-8°C in the subsequent 2-3 days.

- Heavy rain/snow: Una, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti
- Rain with heavy hail: Solan, Sirmaur, Mandi
- Yellow Alert: Shimla, Kinnaur
The Meteorological Department has advised residents to remain cautious and take necessary precautions in higher altitude areas.
