Himachal: Accused in Firing on Former MLA Bambar Arrested After Encounter

Himachal: Bhau Gang Shooter Aman Alias Kaku Arrested After Encounter by STF

Aman alias Kaku (20), a shooter from the Bhau gang, was arrested by the STF Rohtak team after an encounter near Sampla on Tuesday night at 7:50 PM. The ₹20,000 bounty fugitive hails from Ritouli village, associated with gangster Himanshu alias Bhau. He was wanted by the police in Bilaspur, Himachal, in connection with the firing at former Congress MLA Bambar Thakur. The injured Aman was immediately admitted to PGI Trauma Centre.

STF chief Narendra Kadyan stated that the team, led by SI Manoj, was on patrol when they received information that Aman was waiting for someone on the Outer Bypass of Sampla-Beri Road. When the police vehicle stopped, Aman fired three shots. In the return firing, Aman was hit in the leg and immediately apprehended.

ASI Yograj Panghal of the STF said that Aman alias Kaku is a sharpshooter of the Bhau gang. On March 14, 2025, Aman, along with three accomplices, fired 12 rounds at the residence of former MLA Bambar Thakur in Bilaspur. The MLA survived, but his PSO was seriously injured. Since then, Aman had been evading arrest.
