Sukhu Meets Kharge in Delhi, Discusses Cabinet Expansion and Party Appointments

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi on Friday. The discussions focused on cabinet expansion, organizational appointments, and filling vacant positions in boards and corporations. The Chief Minister also updated Kharge on the current activities of the state party, ground-level conditions, and upcoming programs.

According to sources, Sukhu informed Kharge about potential names for appointments in various boards, authorities, and government institutions. Following the induction of Vinay Kumar as state Congress president, the appointment of the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly is also pending and was discussed during the meeting. The party aims to fill all vacant posts while maintaining balance at both organizational and government levels to accelerate administrative and political decision-making.

Anurag Singh Thakur Meets Union Minister
Former Union Minister and MP Anurag Singh Thakur met Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Delhi on Friday. He requested the construction of roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGGSY) in rural areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Anurag said that good roads are the foundation of regional development. He highlighted that under PMGSY-IV, from 2024-25 to 2028-29, a total of 62,500 kilometers of all-weather roads will be constructed, connecting 25,000 rural habitations that currently lack road access. The total financial outlay for this project is ₹70,125 crore. He emphasized that Himachal Pradesh should also benefit from this scheme.
