Sirmaur Fire: Mother Rushed to Help at Night, Could Not Rescue Daughters, Grandchildren, and Son-in-Law

Sirmaur: Tragic Fire on Maghi Festival, Two Daughters, Son-in-Law, and 3 Children Burn Alive

Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh): In the Giripar area of Sirmaur district, a devastating fire struck early Thursday morning, turning the festive celebrations of Maghi into mourning. In this tragic incident, two daughters, a son-in-law, and three young children were burned alive.

The daughters had come with their families to celebrate the festival at their mother Indra Devi's home. The fire started from a fireplace in the room and escalated when gas cylinders exploded in the kitchen. The blaze spread so rapidly that those sleeping inside could not escape. Three adjacent empty houses and a cowshed were also destroyed.

Fortunately, Indra Devi’s son Vikram and Naresh’s son Sujal had gone to sleep in another village, saving their lives. However, the remaining family members—Kavita, Tripta, Naresh, and children Kritika (5), Sarika (13), and Kritik (3)—could not survive. Lokendra was rescued through a window by locals but suffered severe burns and was referred to Solan Hospital.

The Maghi night, which was meant for celebrations, turned into a dark and unforgettable tragedy for the village.
