HP Politics: Jai Ram Thakur Says Congress Infighting Exposed, Party Split into Factions

Jai Ram Thakur Attacks Congress in Kullu, Says Infighting Exposed, No Coordination in Government

Kullu: Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur attended the United Front Conference in Kullu as the chief guest, where he launched a sharp attack on the Congress party. He stated that internal factionalism within the Congress in Himachal Pradesh has now become evident and reiterated that the BJP had earlier warned that the party was divided into factions.

Thakur said that following a remark by a Congress minister, all internal divisions within the party have come to light. He alleged that there is no coordination between Congress ministers, the Chief Minister, and the Deputy Chief Minister, and ministers are openly making statements against each other.

He further said that commenting on government officials is not a healthy political tradition. Criticizing the Congress, Thakur said the party is creating an uproar over the renaming of the MGNREGA scheme, whereas the central government has only changed the name. In contrast, the state government has discontinued several schemes launched during the BJP regime.

Referring to the Himcare health scheme, Thakur said the current condition of the scheme under the Congress government is well known to the public.

Former minister Govind Singh Thakur, Banjar MLA Surender Shourie, district BJP president Amit Sood, and several state, district, and mandal-level party functionaries were present at the event.
