Himachal News: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla Says Even PM Concerned Over Rising Drug Abuse, Words Alone Won’t Solve It

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla Says Drug Abuse in Himachal Cannot Be Stopped by Speeches Alone; Women Can Play Key Role

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has stated that rising drug abuse in the state cannot be curbed through mere speeches or statements. He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also concerned about the issue and emphasizes raising public awareness to combat it.

The Governor pointed out that women can play a crucial role in this campaign, as monitoring children within families can help prevent drug use. Addressing a soldiers’ honor ceremony organized by Sarv Kalyankari Trust at the historic Chaugan in Sujanpur on the occasion of Army Day, he expressed his concern over the increasing drug menace.

He further stated that raising awareness among people is essential to fight drug abuse. Additionally, he mentioned a rise in TB cases in the state and urged citizens to become “Niksay Mitra” to help make Himachal and India TB-free.

Governor Shukla also stressed the importance of society and the nation, praising former MLA Rajendra Rana for working for society rather than mere political programs. He extended greetings on Army Day, honoring the courage, discipline, and patriotism of the Indian Army and saluting all soldiers, ex-servicemen, and their families.
