Himachal: ISBT–Chamiyana Tempo Traveller Fare Reduced to ₹57
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Transport Corporation (HRTC) has reduced the fare for the newly launched tempo traveller service from ISBT to the Super Specialty Hospital Chamiyana to ₹57 per person. Earlier, the fare was ₹120, which many patients and their attendants found expensive.
The decision to reduce the fare came after public demand. The tempo traveller now runs directly from ISBT via Khalini–BCS and Panthaghati to Chamiyana Hospital, saving patients the trouble of changing multiple buses.
Dr. Yashwant Verma, General Secretary of the Chamiyana Faculty Association, said that this service will benefit hundreds of patients and their attendants who visit the hospital daily. They will no longer need to rely on private taxis, making travel both affordable and convenient.
Shimla Citizens’ Sabha leaders Jagmohan Thakur and Vivek Kashyap also welcomed the service, emphasizing that either a government bus or tempo traveller service should have a minimum fare to prevent financial burden on the public.
