Medical College Chamba: 240 MBBS Trainees and Student Association Suspended for Missing Exams

Chamba: A total of 240 MBBS trainees from the 2021 and 2025 batches at Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Chamba, have been suspended for seven days. These trainees had taken leave without notice during the exams held in December.

Following recommendations from the disciplinary committee, the college administration has taken strict action. Not only have the trainees been suspended, but the class and girl representatives have also been suspended. The 2021 batch will no longer be allowed to participate in sports and other activities, while the 2025 batch will be barred from any activities until 2028.

Additionally, the Student Association has been suspended for a week. Class and girl representatives will be ineligible to participate in association elections for the next four years.

College spokesperson Dr. Manik Sehgal stated that this action was taken based on the disciplinary committee’s recommendations. The exams, which started on December 15 and ended on December 31, are not university exams but are mandatory for all trainees under the NMC regulations.
