Dharamshala: Jairam Thakur Launches Verbal Attack on State Government, Levels Multiple Allegations

During an event in Dharamshala, Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur launched a sharp verbal attack on the state government. He criticized the government for spending ₹10 crore on celebrations in Mandi, stating that the funds should have been used for the welfare of poor families. Thakur also alleged that HRTC sent a ₹2 crore bill with a 50% advance clause, and accused the government of threatening to settle matters under the cover of darkness.

He questioned why Vigilance investigations had to be ordered and an SIT constituted by the DGP, when the Chief Minister had the concerned departments. Thakur sarcastically asked which ministers recently met the high command and were involved in expressing displeasure in Mandi.

Thakur further accused officials of defying governance, saying those sidelined by his government are now controlling the Chief Minister. He claimed that the government’s achievements over three years are zero and that the dignity of constitutional posts is not being maintained.

On law and order, he highlighted alarming incidents, where doctors are attacked by patients and vice versa. He added that the central government helped the state during disasters, but the state government did not even express thanks.

Regarding the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections and Panchayati Raj rulings, he warned of political tension and claimed that if elections were held today, Congress would face a crushing defeat. He also discussed changes in MGNREGA, saying that opposition lacks justification.
