Severe Cold in Una: School and Anganwadi Timings Adjusted, Effective from December 29
In response to the rising cold in Una and to prioritize children’s health and safety, the district administration has temporarily adjusted the operating hours of all schools and Anganwadi centers. The order was issued by Jatin Lal, Chairperson of the Una District Disaster Management Authority and Deputy Commissioner.
New Timings:
- All government and private educational institutions (Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle, and Senior Secondary schools) will operate from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM from December 29 to January 31.
- All Anganwadi centers will operate from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Under normal circumstances, schools operate from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in summer and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in winter, while Anganwadi centers operate from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in summer and 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in winter.
The administration stated that any academic loss due to the timing change will be compensated by adjusting morning assemblies and afternoon breaks.
Weather Update:
Una recorded a minimum temperature of 6°C and a maximum of 23.6°C. The Shimla Meteorological Office has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in some areas during early mornings and late nights until December 30.
The Deputy Commissioner urged all concerned departments, school management committees, and parents to strictly follow the order.
