Himachal: Retired Teachers Re-employed Will Now Receive Remuneration; Finance Department Issues Clear Guidelines
Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has clarified the confusion regarding the payment of remuneration for teachers re-employed after retirement. The Finance Department has instructed the Education Department that the source of payment will depend on the nature of the teacher’s re-employment.
During the current academic session, the government allowed teachers to opt out of retirement. Teachers who chose to continue serving instead of retiring can now expect to receive their remuneration.
The School Education Director has issued letters to Deputy Directors of the districts to take necessary action. The Finance Department clarified that if a teacher is re-employed in the same regular post held before retirement, the salary and remuneration can be drawn from the regular salary head.
However, if a teacher is re-employed under the outsourcing system and is not working against a regular sanctioned post, the payment will be made from the outsourcing expenditure head. The clarification from the Finance Department will now ensure uniform implementation across all districts and resolve delays in payments.
Higher Education Director Ashish Kohli has instructed Deputy Directors to take immediate action in accordance with the Finance Department’s instructions and report the updates to the department.
