Himachal Connection Found in International Cyber Fraud Gang Caught in Gurugram
A connection to Himachal Pradesh has emerged in the case of an international cyber fraud gang caught in Gurugram. Police had arrested three suspects in February, two of whom are residents of Himachal Pradesh.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused were providing call support in India for a China-based cyber fraud syndicate. Police recovered a 20-port virtual SIM box and a laptop from the accused. About 20 Redmi mobile phones were connected to this SIM box, which were used to make calls to a large number of Indian citizens to execute cyber fraud.
According to police, the system could make over 20,000 calls per day. The arrested suspects have been identified as Karmee (32) from Nagaland, Lobsang Tsultim (33) from Mandi, and Nawang Gyaltsen (35) from Dharamshala. Investigations also revealed that two of the accused were born in China and have been living in India for the past 15 years, with knowledge of Chinese and Taiwanese languages.
Police are now investigating a potentially active network in Himachal related to the case and are searching for other suspects.
