Shimla: Delhi ACP Among 20 Police Personnel Named in Case of Arresting Three Youth Congress Workers from Chidgaon Hotel
In Rohru’s Chidgaon area of Shimla district, three Youth Congress workers were arrested from a hotel without prior notice. Shimla Police have now named around 20 police personnel, including Delhi ACP, in the case. Initially, an FIR was registered against unknown persons at Chidgaon Police Station.
Given the seriousness of the case, IPS officer ASP Headquarters Abhishek was assigned to lead the investigation. On Wednesday morning around 5 AM, a plainclothes Delhi Police team reached the hotel and took the three workers with them. Hotel owner Sandeep Ranjan lodged a complaint with Shimla Police.
Prompt action by the police led to roadblocks at ISBT, Shoghi, and Dharampur in Solan, where the Delhi Police team was taken into custody. FIRs have been filed under sections including kidnapping, trespassing, illegal detention, unlawful assembly, and theft.
Further investigation revealed that the personnel who took the workers were from Delhi and Haryana, tracking them for a case registered in Delhi. SSP Shimla Gaurav Singh confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
