Himachal: Fire Destroys Two Houses in Kullu and Kinnaur, One Partially Damaged
In Himachal Pradesh, two houses were completely destroyed by fire in Kullu and Kinnaur districts, while a third house suffered partial damage.
In Kullu district, a two-and-a-half-story house in Jarwala, Gopalpur Panchayat, Banjara Valley, was engulfed by flames from a nearby forest fire. Homeowners Bhim Sen and Manasukh reported that all four rooms and household belongings were destroyed. The fire also destroyed over 50 apple trees. SDM Banjara, Pankaj Sharma, stated that revenue officials have been instructed to assess the loss, and the administration will provide full support to the affected families.
In Kinnaur district, two wooden houses in Homte village, Nichar subdivision, caught fire on Friday night. One eight-room house was completely destroyed, while the upper floor of a nearby new house suffered partial damage. Villagers tried to control the fire, but the wooden structures allowed the flames to spread rapidly. SDM Narayan Singh Chauhan confirmed that the revenue department team is on-site to assess the damage and will take further action.
