Himachal: Patients at Sub-Centers, PHCs, and CHCs to Receive On-Call and Video Specialist Consultations
Solan: Patients at sub-centers, primary health centers (PHCs), and community health centers (CHCs) in Himachal Pradesh will now have access to consultations with specialist doctors through on-call or video conferencing. The Health Department has implemented this system, which will reduce the need to refer patients with minor illnesses to larger hospitals. Only serious and emergency cases will be referred.
According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ajay Pathak, community health officers at sub-centers will consult with doctors at PHCs or CHCs through on-call facilities. Similarly, PHC doctors can consult CHC doctors, and CHC doctors can consult specialists at medical colleges for patient treatment.
Additionally, treatment will also be provided at patients’ doorsteps in serious cases. The Health Department is continuously working to provide better testing facilities in hospitals and ensure timely treatment for patients through on-call consultations.
Dr. Ajay Pathak said, "This new system has been implemented to ensure patients receive timely and quality treatment. Patients at sub-centers and health centers will now be able to receive effective care through on-call consultations."
