District Statistics Officer in Rajgarh Commits Suicide Citing Systemic Issues
Prem Prakash Bhagnal (40), a District Statistics Officer from Kodhab Bagna in the Haban area of Rajgarh subdivision, posted at the District Statistics Office in Solan, committed suicide on Monday by hanging himself in a forest near his village. He left behind a two-page suicide note raising serious concerns about administrative practices, the behavior of departmental officers and staff, and lack of communication. The note clarified that this was not due to any personal dispute but because of systemic issues.
The deceased’s father and family have demanded a thorough and impartial investigation. According to the family, Prem Prakash had been under mental stress, with senior officials and technical staff reportedly pressuring him improperly. He leaves behind his wife, a four-year-old son, and elderly parents.
