Complaint of Privilege Violation Filed Against Mandi Deputy Commissioner, Minister Yadwinder Goma Sends Letter to Chief Secretary
Himachal Pradesh AYUSH, Youth Services, and Sports Minister Yadwinder Goma has filed a complaint of privilege violation against Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan. Following this, the government sent a letter to Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, instructing him to obtain a response from the Deputy Commissioner and forward it to the Assembly Secretariat.
In his complaint, Minister Goma alleged that on January 25, during his visit to Mandi to participate in the Republic Day celebrations, the Deputy Commissioner was absent. He neither attended the event nor provided any formal communication, and no alternative arrangements were made. The minister stated that this reflects administrative negligence and disregard for official protocol.
Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta said that once a response is received, the matter will be presented to the Assembly Speaker for further action. Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania will then decide whether to refer it to the Privileges Committee.
Minister Goma emphasized that this is not a routine administrative lapse but demonstrates a lack of responsibility and disrespect toward the legislature, especially during the visit of a Cabinet Minister.
