Himachal: Cold Wave Continues in Tribal Areas, Night Temperature Drops to -14.1°C in Kukumsari

Shimla: The cold wave continues to affect tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh. Night temperatures in Kukumsari dropped to -14.1°C, while Tabo recorded -11.4°C and Kalpa -2.0°C. Meanwhile, temperatures in mid-hill and lower regions have risen slightly, providing some relief from the cold. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 7.1°C.

According to the Shimla Meteorological Center, sunny weather is expected on February 7 and 8. Light rain and snowfall may occur in higher hills on February 9, while light to moderate rain and snowfall is forecasted in some areas of the state on February 10 and 11. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain steady over the next 3-4 days, while maximum temperatures may gradually rise by 2-3°C.

Solangnala’s snow-covered valleys have become a top attraction for tourists, who are enjoying adventure sports such as paragliding, zip-lining, skiing, tube sliding, and bungee jumping. Authorities have cleared snow from roads, allowing all vehicles to access Solangnala. Local businesses report a boost in tourism-related activities despite slightly lower footfall than expected.
