Dangerous Stunt for Social Media in Mandi: Driver Fined ₹18,500
Mandi: On the Kirtpur-Nerchowk four-lane road at Harabag, Sundernagar, a young man performed a dangerous stunt to gain a few seconds of popularity on social media, putting not only his own life but also the lives of dozens of pedestrians at risk.
The stunt, carried out by an Alto car driver, was recorded by an unknown person and shared on social media, quickly going viral. The video shows the driver speeding and performing stunts on a public road, flagrantly ignoring traffic rules.
Following the viral video, the police took immediate action and fined the driver ₹18,500 under various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. SP Mandi, Sakshi Verma, stated that the driver is being identified and strict action will be taken in future cases of negligence and traffic violations.
The police have urged youths to refrain from performing such dangerous acts for likes and views on social media, warning that a single moment of carelessness can be life-threatening.
