Flights to Resume at Gaggal Airport from September 18, SpiceJet and IndiGo Announce Schedule
With the official end of the monsoon season, flight operations at Gaggal Airport (Dharamshala) are set to increase. Flights that were suspended due to bad weather and India-Pakistan tensions are now resuming.
According to the released schedule on booking platforms, SpiceJet will operate three flights, including one that was previously suspended, while IndiGo will continue with its existing two daily flights starting September 18.
As per the new schedule, there will be two flights on Mondays and Fridays, and three flights on other days from SpiceJet. IndiGo’s services will continue without any changes.
This comes as a boost for the tourism sector, which was heavily impacted by relentless rains over the past couple of months in Himachal Pradesh. The region suffered significant damage to road infrastructure, limiting tourist movement.
Ashwani Bamba, President of the Dharamshala-McLeodganj Hotel and Restaurant Association, expressed hope that the tourism industry will pick up post-September 15. He stated that hotels have started receiving inquiries and advance booking requests as travelers seek updates on weather and road conditions.
