Himachal Hikes Fee for Jamabandi Copy, Now ₹20 Per Page
Shimla, September 10 — The Himachal Pradesh government has increased the fee for obtaining Jamabandi copies. As per a notification issued by the Revenue Department on September 5, citizens will now have to pay ₹20 per page at Lok Mitra Kendras, up from the earlier rate of ₹10 per page.
Additionally, those applying through the e-District Portal will be charged a fee of ₹50 per application (including GST) — applicable for one Khasra/account number only. For multiple account numbers, separate applications and fees will be required.
The government clarified that out of the ₹20 per page, ₹10 will go directly to the Directorate of Land Records, which will be used to strengthen the IT infrastructure of Patwar offices, Kanungo offices, tehsils, and other revenue institutions.
According to the notification issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Kamlesh Kumar Pant, this move aims to bring transparency and efficiency in land record management.
Jamabandi copies are crucial for land purchase, loans, inheritance verification, and other legal documentation. By offering this service through Lok Mitra Kendras and the e-District portal, the government intends to bring digital services to rural areas and curb corruption. This also reduces the need for citizens to visit Patwar or Tehsil offices repeatedly.
