Petitions Filed in Himachal High Court Against Highest Pay Scale Notification; Notice Issued to Government
Shimla, September 10 — Petitions have been filed in the Himachal Pradesh High Court challenging the highest pay scale notification issued by the state government on September 6, 2025, which was later reportedly withdrawn. The notification proposed to revoke the highest pay scale issued on January 3, 2022.
The petitions were heard by Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Sushil Kukreja, who directed the state government to submit their response within four weeks by issuing official notices. The next hearing is scheduled for November 13.
The petitioners’ lawyers requested the court to impose an interim stay on the notification, stating that although it has been temporarily suspended, it has not been officially withdrawn and may still be enforced, which could harm the petitioners.
The Additional Advocate General representing the state informed the court that the notification is currently suspended and no interim order is necessary at this stage. After hearing arguments from both sides, the bench decided not to pass any interim order.
