Dharamshala: RSS Voices Concern Over China's Expansionist Policies, Meets Dalai Lama to Discuss Peace and Harmony

On Friday, senior officials of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) met with Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and the Prime Minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile, Penpa Tsering, in Dharamshala. During the courtesy meeting, RSS leaders expressed serious concern over China’s expansionist policies, calling them a threat not only to India but to peace and stability across the region. They emphasized the need for neighboring countries to engage in mutual cooperation and respect.

The delegation included RSS National Executive Member Dr. Indresh Kumar, former BJP General Secretary (Organization) and current All India Sampark Pramukh Ram Lal, and Sah-Prant Pracharak Omprakash. Discussions during the meeting focused on global peace, social harmony, and environmental protection.

Dr. Indresh conveyed heartfelt greetings to the Dalai Lama on behalf of RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on the occasion of his 90th birth year. He also shared that the RSS will be celebrating its 70th Foundation Day in October with thousands of events across the country, aiming to promote peace, brotherhood, and environmental commitment among 12 to 15 crore families.

The RSS leaders later observed a session of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and visited the Tibet Museum, where Director Tenzin Topden briefed them on Tibet’s history and ongoing struggle.

The visit concluded with a special dinner hosted by the Tibetan government-in-exile in honor of the RSS delegation. During the event, commemorative “Ghoetön” souvenirs were presented to mark the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth celebration. Tibetan Prime Minister Penpa Tsering, Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel, Deputy Speaker Dolma Tsering Teykhang, and senior cabinet members were present at the ceremony.
