Parwanoo Municipal Council Ranks Second in National Clean Air Survey
New Delhi / Parwanoo, September 10, 2025:
Parwanoo Municipal Council from Himachal Pradesh has secured the second position in the nationwide Clean Air Survey 2025, marking a significant environmental achievement. In recognition, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, has awarded an incentive amount of ₹25 lakh. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav honored the winners at a special event in New Delhi.
The national survey categorized 130 cities across India based on population. Parwanoo was recognized among the cleanest air cities in the category of towns with a population under three lakhs.
Dr. Praveen Chandra Gupta, Member Secretary of the State Pollution Control Board, stated that this success is a result of the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the integrated efforts toward sustainable development and environmental conservation.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work of the Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board, local administration, and the people of Parwanoo. This recognition not only brings national attention to the state but also strengthens the collective resolve to continue working towards clean air, public health, and environmental sustainability.
