Kharar: Youth Shot Dead by Friend During Liquor Party, Accused on the Run
Kharar (Punjab):
A late-night liquor party turned deadly in Villa Plazio Society, Khanpur, Kharar, on early Sunday morning when a youth was shot dead by his friend following an argument. The deceased, Shivang Rana (22), was a resident of Diyara village, Dilwan Panchayat, Amb Subdivision, Una district (Himachal Pradesh). He was pursuing a BCA degree at a government college in Una.
The accused, Harvinder Singh alias Harry, who is also from Una but currently resides in another society in Kharar, fled the scene after the shooting. Kharar City Police have registered a murder case and launched a manhunt to arrest him.
Incident Details:
The incident took place in a rented flat on the first floor of Villa Plazio Society. The flat resident’s brother had come with three friends, including Shivang and Harvinder, to attend the party. The group began drinking around 11 PM Saturday night, and the party continued until 5 AM.
During the party, a heated argument broke out between Shivang and Harvinder. In a fit of rage, Harvinder pulled out a pistol and shot Shivang in the temple, killing him instantly. One of the youths present at the scene immediately informed the police.
Police Statement:
DSP Kharar Karn Sandhu confirmed that all individuals involved are from Una, Himachal Pradesh. “Preliminary investigation reveals that a drunken altercation led to the fatal shooting. "The accused managed to escape after the incident, but police have launched a manhunt to nab him soon," he stated. Shivang's family has also arrived in Mohali upon receiving the news.
