Ram Kumar Bindal Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody, Brijeshwar Kashyap’s Bail Plea Rejected
Solan/Shimla: Ram Kumar Bindal, brother of Himachal BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal, has been sent to 14-day judicial custody in a rape case. He was presented in court on Wednesday following his discharge from the regional hospital on Tuesday, where he had been under treatment due to deteriorating health after his arrest on Friday.
SP Solan Gaurav Singh confirmed that the accused has been remanded to judicial custody as per the court's orders.
In a separate case, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Brijeshwar Kashyap, son of former BJP MP from Shimla, Virendra Kashyap. Justice Virender Singh ruled that the accused cannot approach the High Court directly and should first seek bail from the Sessions Court. The court allowed the withdrawal of the plea and granted permission to approach the Sessions Judge in Solan.
The complainant has alleged that Brijeshwar Kashyap sexually exploited her for two years under the false promise of marriage. A formal FIR has been lodged at the Solan Women’s Police Station.
