CM Sukhu Gifts Diwali Bonus to Himachal Govt Employees; Announces 3% Dearness Allowance and Pending Arrears Payment

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a Diwali gift for government employees during the State Electricity Board Employees Union’s convention. He declared a 3% dearness allowance along with pending arrears to be paid soon. The dearness allowance for the period from April 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, will be credited to employees’ bank accounts before Diwali. This allowance will also be included in the October salary and pension payable in November.

The CM said that a notification for the payment of pending arrears from July 2023 to March 2025 will be issued soon. Additionally, outsourced workers will receive compensation from the government in case of injury. Promotions will be implemented immediately, and decisions regarding OPS and other issues in the electricity board will be taken shortly. Chargesheets against some employees will be withdrawn.

Hiralal Verma, General Secretary of the State Electricity Board Employees Union, stated that the union was formed in 1971. On this occasion, Trilok Thakur, State President of the Himachal Pradesh Unrecognized Employees Federation, thanked the Chief Minister and praised his sensitivity towards employees’ welfare.

Several senior office bearers of the federation were present, appreciating the CM’s employee-centric initiatives as motivating and encouraging for all government workers.
