Army Chief Visits Chail Military School Centenary, Says Only Terrorists Targeted in Operation Sindoor
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Rashtriya Military School Chail, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, attending the centenary celebrations on Saturday, stated that in Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army strictly followed the principles of just war, targeting only terrorist hideouts. He clarified that no civilian or military installations were harmed during the operation.
Praising the legacy of Chail Military School — the oldest among the five RMS institutions under the Ministry of Defence — General Dwivedi said that the school has produced many outstanding military officers, and its alumni have excelled across various fields. He expressed confidence that future cadets from the school will continue to achieve great heights, while also upholding the traditions and values of the institution.
The event began with the inauguration of the Centenary Gate at Chail’s historic cricket stadium, dedicated as a symbol of the school’s glorious tradition and a century of service to the nation. Principal Vimal Kumar Gangwal Jain highlighted the achievements of the institution.
During the celebration, the Army Chief released a special postal cover and unveiled the first edition of The Centennial Chronicle. In the awards ceremony, Nikhil Pratap Singh was declared Best Senior Cadet, Aryan Singh of Class IX was named Best Junior Cadet, and Aradhya of Class VIII was honored as Best Girl Cadet.
