Soldiers Perform Rituals at Martyr Ashish’s Sister’s Wedding in Sirmaur, Himachal
Sirmaur: In the Bharali village of Anjboz area, Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh, soldiers from the Indian Army played a special role in the wedding of martyr Ashish Kumar’s sister, Aradhana (Pooja). To ensure the sister does not feel the absence of her brother, soldiers from the martyr’s battalion came all the way from Arunachal Pradesh to perform wedding rituals. Dressed in Indian Army uniforms, the soldiers accompanied Ashish’s sister under the traditional scarf to the stage for the garland exchange, bringing tears to many eyes.
Former soldiers from Paonta Sahib and Shillai areas also participated in the ceremony, making it a unique sight in Himachal.
With pride, the soldiers gifted the bride a bank fixed deposit, while the Ex-Servicemen’s Organization presented her with blessings and mementos. The bride accepted these honors with teary eyes. The soldiers and veterans accompanied the bride to her in-laws’ home, fulfilling their brotherly duties.
The Grenadiers Regiment and the Ex-Servicemen’s Organization demonstrated that the brotherhood towards martyrs and their families is eternal — in life and beyond. Such sensitivity is true patriotism.
