Chintpurni: Flour Fails Quality Test, Mill Operator Issued Notice, Departmental Inquiry Underway
In Himachal Pradesh’s Chintpurni Assembly constituency, wheat flour produced by a local flour mill has failed to meet quality standards. The Food and Supplies Department had collected flour samples from the mill on August 6. According to the lab report received on August 21, the flour did not conform to the required quality norms. Based on this, Director R.K. Gautam issued a notice to the mill operator on August 26, seeking an explanation.
The mill operator submitted a reply on September 1. This flour had been supplied to the Amb and Gagret civil supply depots in Una district. During inspections, more samples were collected, which also failed the quality standards. As per rules, the operator’s security deposit can be seized in such cases. However, the flour supplied from these depots had already been consumed before the report was received.
The final decision in this matter will be taken at the directorate level.
