Ambulance Falls into Gorge Near Gagret, Three Dead, Two Injured
On Saturday morning near Gagret on the Chintpurni-Hoshiarpur road, a tragic road accident claimed the lives of three people when an ambulance carrying a patient fell into a deep gorge. The ambulance was carrying a patient from Jasur who had been referred from Tanda Medical College to DMC Ludhiana.
According to reports, as the ambulance passed through the Manguwal area near Gagret, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge into the gorge. Three people, including the patient, died on the spot, while two others were seriously injured and admitted to a local hospital.
The ambulance belonged to Tanda hospital, and the patient’s family members were accompanying him for treatment referral to Ludhiana.Local residents and police jointly carried out a rescue operation, and the bodies were dispatched for postmortem examination. Preliminary investigations suggest that high speed or loss of vehicle control may have caused the accident.
