Bilaspur Police Seize Largest Ever Meth Consignment, Two Arrested
The Ghumarwin police team in Bilaspur district successfully seized the largest-ever batch of meth during a checkpoint near Baloh toll plaza on the four-lane road on Monday. During the search of a stopped vehicle, police recovered a total of 518.4 grams of heroin (meth).
The suspects, Rahul (20), son of Hansa, resident of Ward No. 2, Fatehgarh Churian, Gurdaspur district (Punjab), and Abhi Kumar (20), son of Arun Kumar, resident of House No. 886, Lane No. 3, Chamrang Road, Amritsar district (Punjab), were arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at Ghumarwin police station, and further investigation is underway. Following this largest seizure, police have intensified their crackdown on drug mafias. From the police chief to officers across the district, the entire force is actively involved. Police activities have increased throughout the district, and strict surveillance is being maintained on suspected drug trafficking locations.
