Shimla | August 27, 2025
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced in the state assembly on Tuesday that a new industrial policy will soon be introduced. The policy will provide multiple incentives to industries, including discounted power rates for small cement plants.
The CM said that all legislators will be consulted while framing the policy. He accused the previous government of misusing public assets under the guise of "customised industrial packages" and warned of strict action against those involved.
CM Sukhu presented details showing that in 2021, Kinvan Pharma Ltd was allotted 300 bighas in Nalagarh at just ₹1 per sq. meter, SMPP Ammunition Pvt Ltd was given 800 acres, and Indo Farm Pvt Ltd received 30 acres. These companies were also given 100% stamp duty exemption, electricity at ₹3/unit, free water, and warehouse facilities.
The revelations sparked uproar in the assembly, prompting BJP MLAs to walk out, accusing the government of policy failures leading to industrial flight and youth unemployment.
