18 Families Left Homeless in Syathi Village Share Their Pain with CM Sukhvinder Sukhu
Mandi, Himachal Pradesh — The disaster-affected families from Syathi village, under Rambla ward of Laungni Panchayat in Mandi district, expressed their grief to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Natural calamity has rendered them homeless, forcing them to take shelter in a nearby temple's shelter house (sarai).
The victims shared that they had built their homes with lifelong savings and hard work, but the disaster took everything away. Their possessions were wiped out, leaving them with just the clothes they wore. With no remaining safe land or financial means to rebuild, their future is uncertain. Around 18 families in the village have lost their homes completely.
Chief Minister Sukhu visited the affected areas and later shared his emotional reaction on social media. “What I saw on the ground in Mandi was heartbreaking — destroyed homes, broken roads, grieving families, and pain all around. Many have lost their loved ones and life savings. The state government stands with you in this difficult time. Your sorrow is my own. Together, we will overcome this crisis,” he wrote.
